HOOK THE FUTURE

The kids fishing clinic will begin with a thirty-minute classroom-style discussion of fundamental fishing techniques, tackle, and safety. Capt. Don will demo various fishing techniques while showcasing a wide variety of fish species. Each kid will also get a free Hook the Future/ Carolina Skiff custom rod & reel combo. You won’t want to miss this hands-on, interactive fishing clinic for kids. As Capt. Don says, “Kids can catch big fish just like adults. The fish doesn’t know who is holding the rod.”

Seminar Takeaways:

  • How to choose the correct weights and baits based on where the fish you are targeting live.
  • The difference between bottom feeders and those that chase bait at the top of the water.
  • The importance of using circle hooks and de-hookers as a successful technique to ensure a healthy release.
  • How to correctly dispose of fishing lines and the different types of litter that can cause environmental problems.
  • The importance of water safety and fishing with a buddy.
  • Being prepared with the right fishing apparel, including life vests and more.
