Expedition Leader and OCEARCH Chairman Chris Fischer and Captain Brett McBride have covered over 250,000 nautical miles together as anglers, adventurers and now scientific expedition leaders. What began with Go Fisch and Emmy-Winning Offshore Adventures has led to catching and releasing the largest fish alive on the 126 ft. customized MV Ocean research vessel, all for science and the future of our oceans. Fitted with a 28 ft. Contender and 21 ft. Safeboat, the MV Ocean is also equipped with a 75,000 lb. custom lift easily capable of safely elevating a 5,000 lb. great white for scientific study and tagging — with state-of-the-art custom transmitter tags. It has a range of 2/3 earth circumnavigation, a 60,000 gal. fuel capacity and recently refitted twin Caterpillar Engines.

"We are thrilled to be at the world's greatest boat show in Miami with so many of our friends. Brett and I are amazed at the enthusiasm for what we are doing. This year, in addition to the amazing new Shark Men TV Season 3 on the Nat Geo Channel, we are launching a publicity campaign around OCEARCH.org, our non-profit entity dedicated to the future of our Ocean's giants.OCEARCH's global reach and our track record for driving unprecedented research gives our oceans a clear voice, as well as the boaters and recreational fisherman who depend on it having a robust future. On behalf of OCEARCH and our amazing crew of the MV Ocean — we can't wait to see you."

"You can't be prepared for how awe-inspiring it is to walk into the Miami International Boat Show. Aside from the wall-wall toys, there's a close-knit group of incredible people who live and breathe just being on the water. Having journeyed from full-time fishing as a professional offshore captain to being at the helm of a world class scientific research vessel designed to catch and safely release the biggest fish in the world, I can tell you that every expedition inspires, challenges and occasionally drives your heart up into your throat. We live for the chance to catch the uncatchable for science. Working with the MV Ocean family of Chris, Jody, Todd, Denny, Juan and Alex on the biggest waters of the world — it doesn't get any better than that except when I get home to my own family."
