The Big Game Room and the Miami International Boat Show are proud to present an evening with Chris Fischer, Expedition Leader of National Geographic’s Expedition Great White. Chris will be on hand in the Big Game Room on Friday, February 12 from 5–8pm with a presentation on the expedition and a question and answer period with the audience. Chris will also be on hand to take photographs and sign autographs. 
Chris is an expert angler, spokesman for responsible fisheries management and Executive Producer and host of "Expedition Great White," a landmark National Geographic Channel television series. While filming during several expeditions throughout the Pacific, Fischer and his crew caught and released more than 20 Great White sharks, studied them under the guidance of leading expert Dr. Michael Domeier, tagged them with unprecedented real-time tracking tags and released them unharmed. Several of the sharks are the largest fish ever caught and released--weighing more than 4,000 pounds. National Geographic Channel will air the shows in 167 countries and it will be translated into 16 different languages. Chris was the former host of ESPN’s "Offshore Adventures" — one of the most-watched outdoor shows in America in the early 2000s.
Chris, a staunch advocate of ocean conservation, is a board member of The Billfish Foundation and recently founded OCEARCH, a conservation organization dedicated to the protection and management of the world’s marine resources, focusing on research, education/awareness, sustainability, and reducing marine debris.
Chris and Melissa Fischer have been long time supporters of the Big Game Room and have made an appearance every year since it’s inception in 2004. They have a loyal following and their seminars draw a huge crowed to the Big Game Room annually. Past appearances have included Capt. Brett McBride, captain of MV Ocean and Dave Olsen who is an underwater photographer as well as a classically trained chef whose recipes have been published in Gourmet Magazine.
The Big Game Room proudly announces the 2010 Big Game Room Hall of Fame Inductee, Ellen Peel.
As President of the Billfish Foundation, Ellen Peel works tirelessly for the conservation of billfish and related species. Her legal expertise is crucial to get important recreational fishing legislation passed, while her love of fishing keeps her at ease on the docks. Ellen is also the new U.S. Commissioner to the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna.
Join us for a reception in her honor on Thursday, February 11th, 2010 on the Big Game Room Stage at 5 p.m.
