Big Game Room Hall of Fame Inducts Joan Vernon for 2009

The Big Game Room is proud to announce the induction of Joan Vernon into the Big Game Room HJoan_Vernonall of Fame.

Joan’s tireless conservation efforts, outstanding contributions and true love of sport fishing make her the perfect recipient of this award. Joan holds numerous conservation awards, including the prestigious Heroes of Conservation award presented by Field & Stream Magazine in 2007. Joan joins other hall of famers, Bouncer Smith, Jim Hardie, Ron Hamlin, Mike Leech, Buddy Carey and Jimmy Loveland.

Join us  for a reception on Thursday, February 12th at 5 p.m. on the Big Game Room seminar stage to honor Joan Vernon.

 

Big Game Room Partners with The Billfish Foundation

The Billfish Foundation, Smith-Merritt Insurance and Marlin, Salt Water Sportsman and Sport Fishing Magazines present the annual presentation of TBF's Tag and Release Awards in the Big Game Room on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. These prestigious awards recognize the Captains, Mates and Anglers (including Youth and Ladies) who have tagged and released the most of each billfish species in each of the world's three major oceans during the previous year. Through this program TBF gathers important data for scientists to use in assessing the stock abundance, age and growth patterns and migration routes of these amazing fish.
