  • What is The Big Game Room?

The Big Game Room (BGR) is an area developed in 2004 that operates inside the existing framework of the Miami International Boat Show. This area is dedicated to the sport of Big Game Fishing. It houses 100 exhibit booths, all occupied by big game fishing related businesses. It includes the popular “Marlin Bar”, a seminar stage for entertainment and guest speakers, the Bait Rigging Station with demos by professional anglers and a filet station.

  • Where is it located?

"The Big Game Room" is located on the second floor, Eastern side of the Miami Beach Convention Center directly above the Sport Fishing Boat hall. It can be reached either from the skywalk that crosses the building coming from the West or from the escalators in B lobby off Washington Avenue. The physical space includes the entire corridor, two smaller side rooms and one large main room.

  • Where did the idea for The Big Game Room Originate?

A handful of friends met during the 2002 show and from that meeting the idea for the BGR was born. A "probe" meeting (about fifty prospective vendors in attendance) was held during the past show, and there was enough positive feedback to go forward in 2004. From the creation of an annual get together for the entertainment of sports fishermen, it's almost assured this associated group will profit by their efforts. Investment wise, the BGR will become one of the most effective means of marketing a product, destination or service to the sports fishing community.

  • What types of vendors (displays) are invited to participate?

The displays should be operated by the businesses that serve on the "front line" of the sport. Coming to mind first are the manufacturers of big game fishing equipment (rods, reels, hooks, lures, line, etc.) and the many tournaments/destinations where big game fishing takes place. Also included are the conservation organizations, fishing publications and service businesses such as fishing travel, insurers and boat finance companies. Others are the boat builders, tower manufacturers, yacht transport companies and the specialized electronic providers.

  • How much does it cost to participate?

Booth space is presently available for $900 for NMMA members and $960 for non-members for a 10 x 10 booth. All space will be allocated in accordance with NMMA's allocation guidelines on a first come, first served basis.

  • How can I sign up?
