New Cigarette Boat Inspired by AMG – Set to Launch at 2010 Miami Boat Show

Two legendary performance brands, Mercedes AMG and Cigarette Racing Team have joined forces to create a custom Cigarette boat that will be unveiled, along with its inspiration, the SLS AMG, on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Miami International Boat Show. The press event will be by invitation only that evening at 7 PM; however, those who cannot make the show can simultaneously watch the unveiling online at www.cigaretteracing.com/legendary.  The display of both the Cigarette boat and SLS AMG will be open to the public from Friday morning, February 12 through Monday, February 15, 2010, at booth # B23 in the Miami Beach Convention Center. 

While each brand’s playground is as different as asphalt and water, both AMG and Cigarette use their racing expertise and heritage to develop high performance machines for passionate enthusiasts.  Taking direct inspiration from the all-new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG super sports car, the new Cigarette AMG offshore powerboat will feature more than 100 innovations included in the design, development and rigging of the boat.

A new manufacturer as of 2010.  The Tideline 190 is a 19' power catamaran that combines the superior, smooth, dry ride associated with cats with the classic looks of a custom made sport fishing boat.  Most boaters agree that cats have a smoother ride and handle a heavy chop better than traditional v-bottom boats but many consumers have been turned off by the less attractive looks and lines of power cats.  Our boats have a flared bow, rounded bow, broken shearline, and are more aesthetically pleasing to the eye that other cats currently on the market and are meant to rival the appearance of a high end custom made sport fishing boat.

Has  developed a unique and innovative hybrid propeller renge manufactured solely from engineering plastics and glass reinforced composites offers a targetted solution to the unique design challenges facing a propeller to be fited to a Saildrive unit.

Initially available only in 2 Bladed configuration for Saildrive units of <50 hp... typically the smaller Bukh, Volvo, Yanmar, Salidrives - Larger 3 and 4 Bladed units are currently under test targetting up to 85hp.

They offer users the choice an extension to the already well proven and accepted Kiwiprops range but target just Saildrive users.

Blade sizes range from 14" to 17" initially - so offer Saildrive solutions to users down to 10hp - lower than the smallest 16" Kiwiprop 3 bladed units.

The "Signal Mate" Automated Sound and Light Controller takes the difficulty of of the required signaling process.  Now, signaling can be automatic. It allows the operator's full attention to be focused on the safe operation of the vessel and the safety of personnel.

The GX2100 MATRIX AIS integrates a dual channel AIS (Automatic Identification System) receiver that displays received AIS target vessels directly on the VHF radio. The GX2100 displays AIS target information (MMSI, Call Sign, Ship Name, BRG, DST, SOG and COG) and will allow you to contact an AIS Ship directly using DSC, show your vessels position in relation to AIS targets and alert you when an AIS ship may be approaching to close to your location via the Closest Point of Approach (CPA) Alarm. One antenna input is all that is needed since the GX2100 utilizes the VHF antenna to receive targets from ships with AIS class A or B transponders. The GX2100S features an 80dB commercial grade receive with Local/Distance attenuator, Class D DSC (dedicated channel 70 receiver continuously watches for DSC calls), powerful 30 Watt PA/Loud Hailer with listen back, and preprogrammed fog signs. Other great features include; die-cast chassis for durability, user-changeable channel names, optional voice scrambler, ClearVoice noise canceling speaker microphone, 4.5 Watt audio output, NOAA Weather Alert, Programmable Scan, Priority Scan and Dual Watch. The GX2100 is also capable of entering and saving up to 100 waypoints, which may be selected and navigated to by using a unique navigation compass display which shows your vessels SOG, COG and the BRG (Bearing) and DST (Distance) to the waypoint*. The GX2100 is capable of being connected to a RAM3 Remote Access Microphone, allowing control of all VHF, DSC and hailer functions remotely as well as add an intercom between the radio and second station microphone. Another unique feature is the ability of the GX2100 to "poll" (request and send) the GPS LAT/LON of another vessel and show the vessel's position on the radio’s alphanumeric display or send the data to a compatible GPS chart plotter to be viewed directly on the chart. This is a great feature for maintaining contact with fishing or cruising “buddy” boats. The GX2100 also has the capability to send AIS target information to a chart plotter via NMEA.  The MATRIX is backed by an industry leading 3-year waterproof warranty.

SEALEGS AMPHIBIOUS BOATS ARRIVE IN THE USA

Sealegs Corporation has announced that its full range of unique amphibious boats are now available in the United States.

This boat was built to break the world’s propelled speedboat record of 220.5 mph. To meet the growing demand of today’s high performance engine builders and racing enthusiasts, engineers at RHS® have designed an all-new LS engine block for radical street and all-out racing applications.

Going beyond the limitations of other GM LS blocks, the LS Race Block is available in both standard (9.240") and tall (9.750") deck height combinations and is engineered for maximum clearance around a 4.600" stroke crankshaft. This was done by raising the camshaft centerline (.388"/9.86mm) and including priority main oiling that shifts the oil galley outboard. With this unique design, RHS® engineers were also able to minimize windage in the rotating assembly – leading to superior engine lubrication at higher rpm.

To make it friendly for existing race applications, the block contains both factory and motor plate race mounts for Gen I, II, III and IV engines. And for quality control assurance, RHS® conducts a CT scan (similar to a medical CAT scan) on each block to ensure maximum precision and consistency. Combine that with more standard features than any block on the market and you get the new benchmark of LS power, strength and compatibility.
